About Alan at Leap Frog Driving Academy

My name is Alan Stevens, Leap Frog Driving Academy is my learner driver academy based in Barnsley and surrounding areas.

My goal is to develop safer drivers of the future, in a calm and friendly environment.

My Story

I have lived in Wombwell for twenty-five years with my sons, Thomas, Samuel and Joseph.

I have been involved in Government approved Apprenticeship Training of sixteen to twenty-four year olds for the past twenty-seven years. During this time I have watched hundreds of young people in the transition from trainee to fully qualified mechanic – some of these have become managers or supervisors of depots and garages.

I made the decision to leave the mechanical side of the car industry, but as training is in my blood and knowing a car inside out the new career I chose was teaching people to drive.

I am pleased to say that as a fully qualified ADI – Approved Driving Instructor, I am able to pass on the highest possible standard of training in a relaxed and calm atmosphere, using industry proven methods that work and that I feel passionate about.

I still enjoy repairing and working on cars (especially those belonging to my sons) when the need arises.

I also enjoy walking our family dog, some occasional DIY, but especially enjoy taking holidays with friends.

Why I want to help you Pass your Test

I find great satifaction in teaching people to drive safely and correctly. I aim to take you through the whole driving experience from a non-driver to an efficient, confident and safe driver.
